DEP discovered two of the five contaminated water and production tanks on the site were severely corroded and had multiple holes.
One tank was leaking an oil-like substance and the second tank was releasing an orange fluid. Field testing confirmed contamination around the tanks.
DEP also noted the owner did not have the required erosion and sedimentation control plan for the site and recommended one be developed and implemented.
Multiple violations were issued for the corroded, leaking tanks with holes in them and a written response to the violations was requested by October 30.
