Graduates’ ages ranged from 17 to 69 years old, the release states.
Diego Martinez, president of the Student Government Association, said he’s grateful for his experience at Mt. San Jacinto.
“It provided me with a strong academic foundation, valuable leadership skills, and a sense of community that I will carry with me,” Martinez said in the release.
One of the ceremonies’ student speakers, Irene Blanco, shared that she didn’t speak English upon arrival to the U.S. five years ago, according to the release, and enrolled in ESL classes. Now she’s graduated with a 4.0 GPA, and been accepted into Cal State San Marcos’ nursing program.
“Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t achieve your dreams,” Blanco told fellow graduates, the release said. “Today, I am here to tell you that everything is possible.”
The college, which has campuses in San Jacinto, Menifee, Temecula and Banning, had over 24,000 enrolled students in the 2021-22 school year.
