Protests erupted at the National Conference headquarters after veteran leader Mubarak Gul was left out of the Jammu and Kashmir Cabinet expansion. His supporters heckled newly inducted minister Ali Mohammad Sagar, prompting party president Farooq Abdullah to appoint Gul as general secretary. Meanwhile, NC MLA Abdul Majeed Larvi also expressed disappointment over his exclusion, questioning the selection of Altaf Ahmad Kalloo and asserting that his seniority and loyalty made him deserving of a ministerial berth.
